I've been looking at the posted photos and hadn't seen that one.
He'll be missed. What a guy!
Hi Colleen. As a hoarder, I still have several old hockey jerseys hanging in a closet. One of them is a Chiefs jersey that I used for practices back in the day. The memories it brings are many, including not just Reggie Dunlop, but the countless other roles Newman took on with the mastery of someone at the very top of his profession.
Outside of his acting, one need only look at his generosity, humor (often self-deprecating,) modesty, and passion to know that here was a man deserving of admiration and respect.
i was so upset about this....but the people at the nursing home were more upset. one young fella wouldn't come out of his room all day.
he was a great guy, what a legacy!
Hi Ashley. Near the end of The Verdict, Newman's character is called upon for his summation to the jury. If I recall correctly, what follows is a scene of several straight minutes without a single cutaway from the actor. Few of today's movie stars are capable of more than just a single brief moment on camera without some sort of edited splice or breakaway to another actor or a different angle.
I'm sure that Paul Newman was a fun and funny man, but he clearly took a very serious view of excellence. Yes, what a legacy!
They broke the mold when they made him Outstanding on every level and one of the most generous individuals ever known.
RIP Mr. Newman, the world is a much less interesting place without you you in it!
